Shot on Kodak Ultramax, 400 35mm; Nikon F55. I saw this moment happening across the River Lee and sprinted around the quay, across the bridge and through some traffic that did not appreciate it at all to make a photograph out of it. I was initially drawn by the lighting and contrast of this black-clad figure sweeping these grands steps and was pleased to find the complementary of a characterful, paint-chipped red door, a parked red car below, and a particularly lucky shaft of light accompanied by splotches of blue paint. Sometimes things just align.
